About the Project

This project consisted of producing a 2D animated teaser based on Julio Cortázar’s short story “Las Manos Que Crecen”. Our team focused on translating the surreal and symbolic aspects of the narrative into a visual and animated form, using expressive design and fluid animation techniques.

The process included scriptwriting, storyboarding, concept art, and character design, leading into the production of the animation itself. The goal was to create an engaging teaser that captured the essence of the story while showcasing our skills in 2D animation and visual storytelling.

Things We Did

We began with pre-production, including script adaptation, storyboard creation, and defining the artistic direction.

We developed concept art and character design, ensuring that the visuals reflected the surreal and psychological tone of Cortázar’s work.

Using Toon Boom Harmony, we animated the teaser, focusing on fluid movements and atmosphere to immerse the viewer in the story’s world.
